My name is Sharron Coburn, I am married to Dennis and we have two teenage children, Jake and Jessica. I grew up in a town on the outskirts of Liverpool before moving to rural Kent where we lived for 15 years.
As a family, we then moved to Bristol for two years in order that I could undertake the academic side of training for ordination at Trinity College before moving here to become Assistant Curate of the Benefice.
I have had a variety of roles from being involved in Home Care for the Elderly, Finance, Sign Writing, Teaching, Writing and Customer Services.
Just before heading off for ordination training I was heading up a Youth and Children’s work charity in the Weald of Kent working with schools, voluntary groups and local churches.
On my day off or if I have a spare moment, you will probably find me at the seaside or trying to create something artistic, reading, baking, gardening, walking the footpaths or spending time having a good chat with someone. I enjoy meeting new people so have thoroughly enjoyed my first week here, however remembering all the new names is proving challenging!
Suffolk is completely new to me so I am looking forward to exploring the area and getting to know its history, to learn what is going on in each of the villages and to see where I can fit into its life. I am also looking forward to learning from Revd David Messer and growing in the vocation that God has called me to and working alongside the leadership teams, serving the congregations. My hope is that I will become a shining light on behalf of the churches in which I serve for all the people of the Benefice.
As I embark on this new chapter of my life I ask for your prayers for myself and my family, that we will settle quickly and well, making good friendships and that God will direct our paths daily and keep tight hold of us, making himself known in the joys.
